More Americans continue to name government leadership than any other issue as the most important problem facing the country, with various aspects of U.S. leadership mentioned by 18% of adults in April. Democrats’ heightened concern about gun violence may at least partly explain the slight decline in this party group’s overall satisfaction with the direction of the country in April, slipping five points since March to 29%.
