… In its latest statewide survey, the Berkeley IGS Poll asked a cross-section of the state’s registered voters their preferences for governor next year, by pairing Newsom against each of four prominent Republicans who were candidates on this year’s recall election’s replacement ballot. This included broadcaster Larry Elder, former San Diego Mayor Kevin Faulconer, businessman and former 2018 GOP gubernatorial nominee John Cox, and Assemblyman Kevin Kiley.
The results indicate that Newsom holds very large leads over each of them. The Governor leads Elder, who received by far the most votes in the recall election’s replacement ballot, by twenty-two points, 52% to 30%, with 18% undecided. Newsom also holds a 22-point lead when paired against Faulconer, 49% to 27%, with 24% undecided. CONTINUED
