But increasingly, the most prominent elected officials are leading with their emotions, following the passions of their base before even getting a chance to examine public opinion on any given issue. …
Conviction politicians who are willing to ignore the polls to live up to personal principles should be admired. But these days, it’s all too easy for politicians to get trapped in ideological echo chambers where they’re convinced the loudest voices represent the majority position.
