Can this political moment of good feelings last?

In our partisan times, it’s hard to find polling results that go against the grain, so to speak. Over the past four years, then-President Trump’s position on any given issue cleaved public opinion along party lines, regardless of the merits. Democrats opposed opening schools simply because Education Secretary Betsy DeVos was pushing for in-person education. Numerous Republicans ended up embracing Trump’s progressive idea to write $2,000 checks to Americans as part of a recovery package, an idea that was later championed by Biden.

But in the aftermath of President Biden passing a $1.9 trillion stimulus measure, filled with economic goodies for voters, there are some signs that the worst of our mindless partisanship is behind us. CONTINUED
