Put 29 voters who have leaned toward backing Donald Trump in a room for three hours and you get a pretty good idea of why the celebrity businessman has dominated the Republican presidential race.
The focus group led by Republican pollster Frank Luntz was comprised mostly of registered Republicans and a few unaffiliated voters. All of them backed GOP nominee Mitt Romney in the last election. Most described themselves as moderate or strong conservatives. Participants gave out only their first names.
