Inflation Expectations Reach New High for the Short Term, Ease for the Medium Term

Median one-year-ahead inflation expectations increased again in March, climbing from 6.0 percent in February to a new series high of 6.6 percent. At the three-year horizon, median inflation expectations ticked down to 3.7 percent from 3.8 percent, a decrease driven by respondents with no college education and with annual household incomes under $50,000.
