Americans’ optimism about the direction the country is headed in has decreased

President Biden’s approval rating dipped to 50% this week as only 29% of Americans believe the country is headed in the right direction.

Less than one in three (29%) Americans believe the country is headed in the right direction. Just two months ago, it was 35% of Americans, indicating decreased optimism as the summer progresses. At this point last year though, only 22% believed the country was headed in the right direction with the only difference being that back then Republicans were most optimistic whereas it is now Democrats.
