Most voters worry about inflation, as sizable majorities call gas and grocery prices a financial hardship. At the same time, they think the federal government’s additional unemployment benefits were a necessary lifeline during the pandemic, but are damaging the economy now. Voters narrowly approve of the job President Joe Biden is doing on the economy by a 51-47 percent margin. That’s better than the marks he receives on immigration (41 percent approve, 54 percent disapprove), where he’s underwater by 13 points, but worse than his ratings for his handling of coronavirus, where he’s at +30 points (64-34 percent).
Currently, 56 percent approve of the president’s performance overall, while 43 percent disapprove. His ratings stood at 54-42 percent in May. CONTINUED
