Black, liberal voters boost Warnock to projected Senate win in Georgia

Raphael Warnock, a Democrat, has defeated Republican Sen. Kelly Loeffler, NBC News projects, in one of the two Georgia runoffs that will determine which party controls the Senate. Warnock won the support of traditional voting blocs for Democrats — 92 percent of Black voters, 92 percent of liberals, 67 percent of voters under 30 and 63 percent of moderates, according to the NBC News Exit Poll of early and Election Day voters. Warnock also won the support of 55 percent of college graduates, 53 percent of women and 52 percent of independents. …

A majority of voters in the runoffs said the presidential election was conducted fairly in Georgia, and an even greater share said they expected that Tuesday’s votes would be counted accurately — but there was a significant division along party lines. CONTINUED
