The part of Fox News that Trump likes least is the part that’s most obviously objective

The first of President Trump’s 46 tweets Friday (as of writing) was one of the few that wasn’t a retweet of some figure from the extended conservative media universe making exaggerated claims about him or his perceived opponents. It was, instead, Trump making false claims about a stanchion of that same universe, Fox News — specifically, its polling unit.

“One of the worst polls in 2016 was the @FoxNews Poll,” Trump wrote. …

Trump has repeatedly objected to Fox News’s polling, given that it, unlike the network’s prime-time programming, has generally offered an objective, realistic assessment of the political moment. Trump justifiably accepts that the network’s coverage will paint his administration in a positive light, so when it covers its own polling (which isn’t always), he gets frustrated. CONT.
