It has consistently been the case that the speed at which the U.S. economy returns to normal depends heavily on the confidence Americans have in the safety of doing so. Polling from Quinnipiac University released Wednesday shows there’s still a great deal of reticence about resuming normal activity, with only about half of respondents indicating they felt it was safe to return to a workplace outside the house or go to a clothing store.
