The GOP shouldn’t be too optimistic, however: The unique circumstances of this election played to the party’s advantage. Garcia certainly benefited from lower-than-usual turnout in the special election, with more Republican voters showing up to the polls than Democrats. Democrats believe that dynamic will be reversed in November with Trump on the ballot. CONT.
