Now that we’ve had a week to digest the results of the 2016 election, here are some observations about what happened and what the results might tell us about the future:
1. Electoral map tilts to the GOP

While the cumulative popular vote means nothing under the Constitution, it is not a good thing for a president to have lost it. The powers of the office are the same for every chief executive, yet it is almost impossible for a president to claim a mandate when many more people voted for the opponent. CONT.
