The 2016 presidential election is still more than a year away. It is highly likely that Hillary Clinton will be the Democratic nominee, but it is difficult to tell who the Republican nominee will be, with 18 currently declared candidates and Republican elites slow to generate a front-runner through endorsements.
Given that we don’t know the composition of the two tickets and thus their comparative personal strengths, and considering that political scientists think the effect of the candidates is small anyway, what can we say about the prospects of the two parties? CONT.
