Americans Split on Worth of U.S. Being No. 1 Economically

Fifty percent of Americans view it as “important” for the U.S. to be No. 1 in the world economically. This is up from 39% in 2007, when Gallup last asked the question, and is the highest figure since 1993. The other half of Americans (49%) say it is “not that important” for the U.S. to be No. 1, as long as it is among the leading economic powers. CONT.
