Yesterday, National Journal columnist Ron Fournier wrote a piece that attempts to take down both Barack Obama and Mitt Romney for their lack of leadership. The piece revolves around some familiar journalistic tropes about presidential leadership – that we just need the right leader, with the right biography and personal qualities, to cut through the trappings of the system and produce results.
