While Obama has shown an ability to energize and boost turnout with minority voters, this trend of a more diverse electorate started before him and will likely continue after he leaves office. It is simple demographics and actuarial science.
This means Republicans should plan for a 2016 electorate that is at least as diverse as the 2012 electorate, if not possibly more so. If these trends continue along the same path, the 2016 electorate could be as low as 70% white. CONT.
