Illinois Governor: Bruce Rauner jumps out to early lead

Winnetka venture capitalist Bruce Rauner has jumped out to a big lead in the Republican race for governor after spending millions of dollars on television ads to introduce himself to Illinois voters, a new Tribune/WGN-TV poll found.

The survey showed Rauner at 40 percent support, more than his top two rivals combined. State Sen. Bill Brady pulled 20 percent and Illinois Treasurer Dan Rutherford was at 13 percent. State Sen. Kirk Dillard had 11 percent. CONT.
