The Politics of Who Watches ‘Duck Dynasty’

This week, the A&E reality show show “Duck Dynasty” stepped out of the world of cable TV and into the political fray. After one of the show’s stars, Phil Robertson, was suspended for comments about gays he made in a GQ interview, former Republican vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin and Louisiana’s Republican Governor Bobby Jindal jumped to his defense.

Indeed, Republicans and evangelicals are among the show’s most reliable viewers, according to data from Experian Marketing Services, and this flare-up in the culture wars many mean you will be hearing a lot about Mr. Robertson and his family’s show as we head into an election year. CONT.
