Many pundits like to think of the Republican primary voter as one who craves orthodoxy. Any Republican politician who doesn’t toe the conservative line can be eliminated in a primary quicker than a dog will bury a bone. Thus come the obvious primary challenges to senators Mitch McConnell of Kentucky and Lindsey Graham of South Carolina.
