UK general election 2017: Making sense of the final polls

Confused about what is likely to happen on Thursday? That would not be surprising. The polls have, after all, produced very divergent results.

In the last few days, for example, one has put the Conservative lead over Labour as low as one point and another as high as 12.

So how should you try and make sense of the final polls as they appear on Wednesday and Thursday? And what should you look out for as the results themselves are eventually declared on Thursday night? CONT.
