Sorting the Obamacare Disaffection

As the clock ticks down to the launch of the Affordable Care Act’s insurance markets on Oct. 1, polls show the public has grown more sour on the health law. The most recent Wall Street Journal/NBC poll found the number of people who believe the plan is a “good idea” was at 31%, its lowest level since the poll began asking about the law. The “bad idea” number was at 44%. …

To get a deeper read on the numbers, Politics Counts took the results of the latest Pew Research Center poll and sorted the results into counties, looking at the uninsured rates, health outcomes and incomes in those places. Breaking down the poll numbers geographically lets you compare those results to other data gathered at that local level, like uninsured rates and income. [cont.]
