Passing New Immigration Laws Is Important to Americans

The large majority of Americans (71%) say it is extremely or very important to establish new laws concerning how immigrants can enter the U.S. and how to treat illegal immigrants already in the country. Majorities across key racial and ethnic categories agree. Seventy-two percent of non-Hispanic whites support such laws, along with 68% of blacks and 73% of Hispanics. [cont.]
